Feeling Unfulfilled? Find Your Purpose with Shadow Work

This blog is from my weekly series ‘Shadow Confessions’ of anonymous disclosures revealing others' deepest secrets & hidden feelings.

Within this offering, you will see yourself in others, learn how to acknowledge your shadow & receive practical tips so your shadow no longer handicaps your potential.

I don’t know what I want from my life. Like the actual purpose. I always feel like there’s a big part of my life untouched which I’ll never get to know.

Triggered Feeling:

Feeling lost, lacking direction, and unfulfilled.

Acknowledge Your Shadow:

When discussing purpose it's important to note the difference between achievements that we have been programmed to deem as the purpose of life (i.e. having kids, getting married) and your own personal sense of purpose.

A personal sense of purpose is less of a specific end goal and more of an ongoing impact on the world, large or small.

It guides and sustains you, even when you have setbacks and the world turns upside down, purpose gives you stability and a sense of direction. Living outside of your purpose might look like:

  • Feeling like something is off

  • Not experiencing excitement from your accomplishments

  • Seeking external validation

  • Struggling to manifest

You won't just wake up one day and know your purpose. What you can do instead is take steps in the right direction to get closer to discovering what exactly is your why in this world.

Steps to Integrate:

Answer the following questions in your journal:

  • When are you most inspired? Think of the last time you were emotionally/physically moved. What were you doing?

  • What brings you joy? Not what everyone else tells you joy should be. What makes YOU excited?

Once you've identified what brings you inspiration/joy/excitement:

  • Are you creating space in your life to do these things? If not, how can you?

  • Where are you distracting yourself most? (social media, dating, family, etc.)

  • Is there someone or a limiting belief blocking you from doing these things more? Identify the who or what.

The last step, check out your Human Design. Once I discovered I was a Projector my purpose became very clear! Everything I do now is in alignment with my why, I hope this can help you too.

Until next week,

Jordan
