An overnight escape to slow down, soften, and reconnect — just outside Mexico City
The Shelf Reading Retreat
This is a quiet, intentional pause — a soft place to land for 24 hours.
Surrounded by like-minded women, books, forest air, slow mornings, and homemade meals shared around a long table.
Join us in the serene woods of Valle de Bravo for a day of slow adventure and soulful relaxation. Picture hiking through nature, unwinding with a sound bath, savoring s’mores by the fire, and rediscovering the peaceful essence of who you truly are.
All you need to bring is a book, an open heart, and your presence.

Your host
I created The Shelf in October 2024 as a way to reconnect with my own reading practice — and to bring people together around something that felt intimate, creative, and grounding.
What began as a simple idea — let’s share our bookshelves — quickly grew into a community. Since launching, we’ve hosted 9 in-person swaps.
This retreat is a natural next step. A fuller expression of what The Shelf is really about: slowing down, being seen, and letting our love of words and rest bring us back to ourselves — and each other.
Alongside this, I’m a certified somatic attachment coach and have spent the past five years creating spaces for women to reconnect — through 1:1 work, healing programs, and gatherings that center safety, softness, and shared experience.
Whether you’ve been to a swap or this is your first time joining us — you’re so welcome.

About the space
Casa Macondo was designed with the intention of being a hub for creation, connection, and expansion, and its spaces reflect these values.
In every corner, you will find beautiful pieces of art that will inspire your creative spirit and spontaneous appreciation of beauty.
Its common areas are open and spacious, encouraging participant interaction and the exchange of ideas.
Its lush, expansive gardens awaken a sense of calm and joy during moments of rest and contemplation.

You’re not alone in that — and that’s the beauty of it. This isn’t a retreat where you have to be “on” or network. It’s a soft, slow experience where you’ll naturally connect through shared meals, quiet moments, and a mutual love for books and presence.
